Class Experience

Hello, and welcome to "Physical Geography: Canada's Seven Landform Regions". In this one-time class, students will explore Canada from the West coast to the East coast while learning about Canada's seven different landform regions. We will discover the Western Cordillera, Interior Plains, Canadian Shield, Innuitian Mountains, Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Lowlands, Hudson Bay/Arctic Lowlands, and the Appalachian Mountains.

For each region, students will record their locations by colouring a map. They will also have the opportunity to learn facts, answer questions, and have discussions about each region. If students live in or have travelled to any of these landform regions, they are encouraged to share their experiences! By the end of the lesson, students will have gained an in-depth understanding of Canada's physical landform regions.

No prior knowledge of Canada or Canada's landforms is necessary, although students should have an understanding of the compass points on a map (N, E, S, W) and have the basic ability to colour and label a map.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to locate Canada's seven landform regions on a map. Students will gain an understanding and be able to briefly explain each landform region.
