🎨 THE EASIEST way to teach photosynthesis--through art! This course is ideal for 3rd-7th graders. 🍃 We'll dive deep into the traditional element of value, and then mix it with the chemical reaction of photosynthesis. I've had so many students take this class and realize that photosynthesis is not too overwhelming to learn when you're having fun in art class! 🔆 In this mini art course, your learner will learn all about plants through art. Using easy-to-access materials, learners create drawings and projects that reflect the plant-topic of the week. {Class Schedule} Week 1: Two videos/projects teaching your child about the element of value, how to spot it, and how to draw with it. Week 2: Two videos/projects discovering the process of photosynthesis--while also learning to add shading with value. Week 3: Scavenger hunt video where your child can go outside (or visit a local grocery store if it's too cold out) and gather green leaves for the final project. The 2nd video combines everything your student has learned into one final project. {Changing the schedule} Does this schedule not align with your homeschool? No worries! Save the links you receive each week and spread them out over a whole year of school. {How it works} In this class, you get 2 video art lessons per week. That totals to 5 ART VIDEO LESSONS and 1 NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT! I've set up this mini-course to be done within 3 weeks. However, there is SO much content in here that it could easily be spread out into 1-2 months. {Extra info} -Younger students (6-8) are allowed to take this class. However, if your learner does not have a strong drawing hand yet, I would encourage you to be ready to assist or to pair them with an older sibling. -Optional: You can place all the finished drawings and projects into a 3-ring binder (I did!). They're all vertical so it works nicely. This also creates a great resource for future reference. Want more? This is a full nature art course that can be sped-up to fit one semester, or stretched to fit a full year of art. Journal and create artwork with value and plants
Syllabus
6 Lessons
over 3 WeeksLesson 1:
Learn it! The Element of Value
We're learning about a POWERFUL element of art and chemical reaction this unit!
Lesson 2:
Practice it! The Element of Value
Let’s practice what you learned in Lesson 1!
Have fun and don’t feel like you have to make your worksheet look exactly like mine.
You’ll complete Lesson 1 and 2 within the same week to help the new info stay fresh.
Lesson 3:
Discover it! Photosynthesis
This week, we're exploring a special chemical reaction that happens inside leaves.
Can you guess what it is?
Lesson 4:
Sketch it! Photosynthesis
Get ready to sketch parts of photosynthesis!
Take each part one step at a time.
Only color it in if the statement at the bottom is TRUE.
