I was a professional photographer and scrapbooker when my kids were younger and would actually smile for the camera. ;) I've had over 100 of my photos published in national scrapbook magazines over the past 20 years. I have also taught art classes at a private K-8 school for the past 15 years and teaching my students photography every year was one of my favorite lessons. Why LEGO? It turns a sometimes boring subject into a high interest subject. I have found that not only does building LEGO decrease anxiety, it gives students a creative jumping off point and a fun subject. The more interested they are in what they are learning, the more information they retain.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents should have some type of camera (phone or iPad is easiest) but anything that takes a picture will work. i.e. Instax, film camera. They may just not be able to share their photo at the end if the photo hasn't been developed yet. They should also bring to class their favorite LEGO minifigure(s) to use as the subject.
