Beginner Level
This is self paced 40 day class set over 8 weeks. Daily slides and videos accompany the self paced beginning photography course. Daily work is planned with a 50 minute daily class in mind. Daily videos are 8-12 minutes in length which allows for 30-40 minutes for the art making during a traditional class time. You will level up our photography using the tool of a digital camera. You will gain experience by taking over 500 photographs as You develop Your skills and eye. You will learn how photography can be a tool of self expression through taking Your own photographic compositions as You tell Your story and express Your ideas. This is the first of 4 (101, 201, 301 & 401) six week sections of high school photography art classes. I love the quote from Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” That is why my classroom motto is, “It is a gift to make mistakes everyday. Everyday! Everyday.” When we are kind to ourselves our mistakes become sources of inspiration and an opening to a gateway of learning that no teacher, such as myself, could ever teach. Also, I believe this reinforces the importance of student choice and student voice. When students are valued students are more likely to create work of value. And we (the home support, the teachers and students) all want work of value to be the outcome of this class. We are all in this together :) C’mon let’s go!
