In this one-time class, students will learn or revise the phase 3 Phonic sounds ''th and ng'' as well as the tricky words ''Me and Be'' and then apply them to read simple sentences.
Class experience
What will be taught:- In this Phonics class, students will revise the phase 2 sounds and tricky words before being introduced or re-introduced to the consonants diagraphs th and ng. The student will be encouraged to blend and also segment words using the digraphs taught. Tricky words ''me and be'' will also be introduced and then applied so that students can attempt to read short simple stories using sounds and words taught. By the end of this one-time class, learners will be able to :- Recognize and pronounce the digraphs th and ng.
- Name and read words containing the digraphs th and ng.
- Read tricky words me and be.
- Read and create sentences containing the tricky words me and be.Each child will need a whiteboard, whiteboard marker, and eraser during the lesson. A workbook resource will be provided once the lesson has been completed, to help consolidate and support learning of the sounds and words taught within the lesson.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
PPT slides will be shared via the Zoom share option and will be controlled by the teacher only. All slides and content have been created by the teacher and are child appropriate.
