US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
I will teach 32 weeks of classes using first grade phonics patterns. I divided the curriculum into four, eight week courses. During this eight week course, students will practice phonemic awareness, blending, spelling, and reading words with consonant digraphs, magic e, soft c and soft g. Students should know the letters of the alphabet and their sounds prior to taking this class. Students should also be able to read CVC words. These classes are for students beginning to read and for students needing extra support. This class would be great for first graders, advanced kindergartners, and/or second graders needing additional support. Each lesson will cover phonemic awareness, word work, and dictation. The content will be presented using Google Slides. Students will need to write during class. They may use paper and pencil or use a dry erase board and marker. Students will also need letter tiles for each class. You do not need to buy anything. You can write the letters on sticky notes, note cards, or cut up a sheet of paper. Write one letter on each tile. I will attach an example in the welcome post. I will let you know before class what letters you will need for that class. I try to make classes as interactive as possible. Students will give me thumbs up/down, shake their head yes/no, sky write, and tap the sounds in words. I encourage students to raise their hand or use the class signal card (available to print in the welcome post) to signal that they have a question. There will be times students will need to be muted. Please make sure that your learner knows how to unmute herself/himself. I will focus on a new pattern(s) each week as well as review the sounds from previous weeks. Here is the schedule: Week One: sh, th, -ng Week Two: ch, -tch, wh, ph Week Three: a_e Week Four: e_e Week Five: i_e Week Six: o_e Week Seven: u_e Week Eight: soft c and soft g 💲💲 Get $5 off of your first class with the coupon code: BOOKE01I6Z5💲💲 📆 Quarter 3 will begin tentatively on January 5th. The plan is to run all four quarters on the same days and time for the entire school year. 📆 Please send me a message if you have any questions. 😀
