Get your learner ready for First Grade! In this class, the student will learn how to use the sounds of the letters to make words. The student will need to know the letters and sounds of the alphabet in order to be successful. This class will be offered 2 times a week for 3 weeks. In each lesson the students will review letters and sounds of the alphabet through the use of flashcards and videos. Then the teacher will show the student how to sound-it-out by using different methods like videos, flashcards, activities and guided writing to blend and segment the sounds. This will include letter tiles, sound boxes, and guided writing throughout the lessons. The students will be encouraged to produce the sounds of the letters and put the sounds into words once they are comfortable with the process. This class is a great class to review and be ready for First Grade or for struggling young learners to reinforce letter sounds and skills to build simple CVC words. Schedule for the 3 weeks: Day 1 Review of letters and sounds Introduce Short a CVC words Day 2 Review short a CVC words Introduce Short e CVC words Day 3 Review short e CVC words Introduce Short u words Day 4 Review short u CVC words Introduce Short i CVC words Day 5 Review short i CVC words Review all CVC words Day 6 Review all CVC words Show and tell what you learned! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Anarah, Ana for short. I have my Bachelor's degree in Education and have taught Kindergarten for 6 years, taught Second Grade for a year, and am now teaching Fourth Grade! I absolutely love to teach and I am so excited to be bringing my experience to help you and your students have some fun while learning new skills!! My favorite things to teach are reading and writing. I enjoy building strong relationships with my students which I believe will help them in their learning process. I teach with an "I do, we do, you do" model where the children are able to see me model the activity, practice it together, and then have a chance to apply their learnings themselves. I am excited to meet new friends and I look forward to working with your child in class!
