I am a retired general and special education teacher, who held a dual certification, with auxiliary credits in Reading. I have taught primary grades (1st), in an inclusion model as the lead teacher or as a co-teacher (Pre-K through 8th grades). I also taught in a special education multi-age, multi-grade and multi-academic content regional program, grades K-5 and grades 6-8. I have designed, piloted and taught summer academic programs in Language Arts and Mathematics (3rd-8th), along with a full curriculum of academics and applicable daily living courses, including Community Based Instruction. Additionally, I instructed at a local community college in the Early Childhood Development Department where I taught, designed and piloted courses that pioneered the department to accreditation and accepted transfer credits at the local 4-year college. My degrees are in English, with a concentration on literacy, language and linguistics; also, Child Development and Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Speech Pathology and Audiology. My post-graduate work is in Early Childhood Special Education.
