In this engaging one-time course, learners will review the alphabet with a chant, practice vowel sounds, learn the letters S, T, and L, and begin blending sounds to read their first CVC words. Interactive activities and bright visuals will keep students involved with their learning as we spin the Rhyming Wheel and rhyme the word, hear silly sounds as we review and learn, practice writing letters on the screen, and play a game to reinforce the lesson material. Learners will:
practice an ABC chant
learn the letters S, T, and L-- recognition, writing, and sounds
know what sounds the short vowels make (phonemes of a, e, i, o, u)
start to be aware that certain letters make certain sounds (phonemic awareness)
