In this engaging ongoing course, learners will review the alphabet with a chant, practice letter recognition, learn the short vowel sounds, consonant sounds, writing, and blending to start reading. Interactive activities and bright visuals will keep students involved with their learning as we spin the ABC wheel and say the letters, practice writing, and play games to reinforce the lesson material. Learners will:
review letter recognition and sounds A-Z
practice an ABC chant
write letters
learn which letters are short/long vowels
know what sounds the short vowels make (phonemes of a, e, i, o, u)
learn what sounds consonants make
start to be aware that certain letters make certain sounds (phonemic awareness)
