In this one time class, your child will practice reading and writing sight words (high frequency) words through phonics games. We will focus on learning sight words through activities such as videos, songs, and bingo games! One of the methods we will use to learn sight words is by mapping the sounds of sight words through orthographic mapping. I am a reading specialist trained in helping students learn to read and write. I have been teaching for 19 years. I have my Masters in Literacy and my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I am trained in a variety of phonic programs including the Orton-Gillingham approach.
A dry erase board and markers. Paper and markers is fine. I will also include a worksheet you for the sight word each week. Make sure to check the Outschool classroom.
