CLASS OVERVIEW This one-time class is simply one of the lessons from Level B of the ongoing series "Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling - CVCe to Simple Blends and Digraphs." This reading series follows the adventures of two fun characters named Jojo and Jake. If you've been curious what the series is like or would like to get a glimpse of how the class is structured, this is a great way to do that! In this one-time class featuring voiced and unvoiced "th" Jojo and Jake head into the jungle to learn a few fun facts about sloths. Students will practice the "th" phonogram with reading activities, games, and a read-along story. This class is packed with learning activities. ALL About The PHONICS for READING, WRITING, and SPELLING program: Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling is a comprehensive program encompassing reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension. This interactive, phonics-intensive program is steeped in the time-tested Spalding philosophy of reading. Students will learn systematically as phonograms are presented in order from simple to complex. Multi-sensory lessons are fast-paced and fun! Students will learn and grow with our original characters Jojo and Jake as they follow them through a series of 45 all-original stories. Engaging characters, thoughtful stories, and smooth continuity of lessons make Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling highly effective for all learning styles! If you're looking to build great readers and inspire a love of reading.... you've come to the right place! EXPECTATIONS FOR IN CLASS SOUND QUALITY/MUTING I will always encourage all students to participate in the class experience. My desire is to have students unmuted as much as possible. It creates an ease of interacting and answering questions without having to use time muting and unmuting. In order for this to take place, it is important to have your student situated in a quiet place that is free from background noises such as televisions, radios, phone calls, or conversations. Parents and siblings, please remember...the entire class can hear any conversation you are having in the room. As the teacher, there are times that I will need to use the mute function. If a student has background noise that may be distracting to other students, I will let them know they are being muted to help the sound quality. I will also mute students at times to be sure the instruction can be clearly heard. That being said, it is important that students know how to "unmute" themselves when asked to do so. Teachers have the ability to mute, but unfortunately, not to unmute. I realize that there are times when you may need to mute your own child for privacy reasons or due to unavoidable background noise, so please feel free to use your discretion in these circumstances. Also, please show your child how to unmute him/herself when asked to do so. Working together, we can attain great sound quality for all the students!
