Beginner Level
Phonics is the foundation for reading! Are you ready to set your child on that path? This is an introductory course where we start right from the beginning for children just entering their reading journey, or those that need reinforcement with their kindergarten and low elementary reading and phonics skills. Based on the Wilson Fundations reading curriculum, I take students through a systematic course that touches on letter and sound recognition, letter formation, sentence structure and reading comprehension. We also play games, sing songs, watch videos, and have fun! Each lesson in this course takes up to 20 minutes, and is designed to be completed one each day - just perfect for busy little ones. This can be utilized as a full curriculum class for phonics and reading comprehension. Or, as short term Pre-K and Kindergarten reading tutoring. Areas covered include: Phonemic Awareness Letter-Sound-Word Association Sentence Structure Reading Comprehension Rhyming This is an ongoing course that builds each day. It is aligned with the Kindergarten (Level K), Grade 1 (Level 1) and Grade 2 (Level 2) Wilson's Fundations curriculum. It is designed to be delivered five days in a row each week, but adjustments can be made to fit your student's schedule and needs. This course can be used as a supplemental reading tutor to target specific needs, or a total curriculum. 🚨🚨Please Note: This is a group class, with a minimum of 2 students required to schedule. I do offer 1:1 options for students who prefer private tutoring, or when the class does not reach a minimum of two students. 🚨🚨
