I love teaching phonics! I have a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Development. When I taught in the classroom, my favorite grade to teach was first because I love to see the growth a beginner reader makes!
After taking the class, the children have the optional choice of making and practice the words we learned in the class as well as the books we read.
I am using a phonics curriculum that I taught my children to read with. It is heavy in phonics with very minimal sight words.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The children will be assessed on their class participation.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
