This class is a five week class (10 lessons) that will meet twice a week. I will apply sound/symbol knowledge to spelling and reading comprehension using targeted multisensory activities and direct instruction. I will focus on decoding, encoding, and reading comprehension strategies, using multisensory activities and direct instruction to present a systematic approach to phonics. Students will improve basic reading skills and sight word recognition.
I have three master’s degrees plus 30. I am certified in elementary education, early childhood education, special education, learning disabilities, ESOL and Primary Montessori. I have the literacy endorsement and I have also been the Literacy Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year. I am trained in Project Read and Organ- Gillingham.
