In this one-time class students will have fun identifying the spelling of a picture with the short "a" sound. Learners will choose 1 out of 4 options of CVC words to match the picture.

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
In this one-time class students will have fun identifying the correct spelling of a picture with the short "a" sound. Learners will choose one out of four options of CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words to match the picture, for example, students will see a picture of a hat and be given the words: bat, hat, fat, yat. Students will need to select the correct button on their device. Kahoot's are a fun way for students to practice a skill in a fun multiple choice quiz format without it feeling like a quiz. Learners will be given up to 1 minute to complete each question. *Please refrain from helping your child to make it fair to all of the children who are playing. **Please note: Students need a separate device if they are using a tablet or phone for class. If you are using a laptop you can use a split screen, though some students have difficulty keeping the screen split due to pushing the wrong button on accident. You do not need an account to use Kahoot! I will give your child the pin at the beginning of class.
Learning Goals
Learners will isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words.

Students will need two devices for this class, one to take the class on and one to play Kahoot on. Please download the app or open the website Kahoot.it and click "student" so it is ready to type the pin into.

I have taught numerous children of all backgrounds in person and online using both Handwriting Without Tears and Zoo Phonics.
