Learning to read is an exciting time for students. We love helping them learn sight words, word families, and short sentences that allow them to start viewing themselves as readers. This class is designed to help students learn to read and write word families (CVC ), sight words, and practice beginning reading skills (short repetitive sentences). Students will - Learn word families - CVC. Learn sight words. Practice reading and fluency. Practice writing.
Homework Offered
I will send out the slides after class for student to continue to practice at home. I encourage daily reading and writing practice for my early readers.Assessments Offered
I am happy to answer any questions a parent may have based on my observations in class. Parents may use the homework to also assess their learner.Grades Offered
Wil we do not specifically provide grades, we are happy to provide our anecdotal observations along with concerns, or suggestions.
Students should know the alphabet along with letter sounds. We are now moving into learning to read by putting the letters and sound together to form words and sentences.
