In this one time 30 minute class, I will assess your child's phonics skills using a variety of assessments. I will give your child a decoding (reading) assessment which will give information on letter/sound recognition and what types of words (syllable patterns) your child can read. Then, I will give an encoding (spelling) assessment to see which spelling patterns your child uses. Depending on your child's needs I may use other assessments to assess your child's phonemic awareness, ability to read/write sight words, fluency, etc.  After the assessment is complete, I will write a one page report on your child's strengths, areas of growth, and make some recommendations for next steps. This assessment is a great way to learn more about your child's reading skills and what classes they would benefit from taking.

This 30 minute assessment session is geared towards younger students who have less stamina taking classes online. It may be necessary to book more than 1 session to complete all the assessments.
