Class Experience

Does your child skip over the "hard" words? I created this class for learners who are still struggling to decode(read) multisyllabic words and read at a slow pace.

I teach this class using Google Slides, videos, games, discussion, word puzzles, phonics cards, and fluency passages.
We will review letter/sound correspondence, the six syllable types, and syllable division rules. In addition, students will learn how to code vowels in multi-syllable words. Each week we will read short, decodable passages that contain the week's syllable type.
My teaching style is diagnostic, prescriptive, and multisensory. Learners will progress at their own pace.
I will send a file at least one day before class begins and weekly thereafter.
Learning Goals
1. Students will identify the six syllable types in English.
2. Students will divide multi-syllable words, code vowel sounds, and sound out each syllable before blending.
3. Students will read with more automaticity, have fun and gain confidence.
