• The purpose of this class is to help students become independent with decoding words beyond CVC words. • Students should be able to attend class with little to no parental redirecting. • During this ongoing class, students will be able to recognize digraphs, trigraphs, diphthongs, combinations, and quadgraphs. • A different digraph, trigraph, diphthong, combination, or quadgraph will be introduced in each lesson. • Students will use the words in the lessons for rhyming, blending, segmenting, substituting, adding phonemes, deleting phonemes, and playing a game. • I will show lessons through PowerPoint slides. • This is a small class, so it is highly interactive. • Students must be able to recognize letters and their sounds without help from parents. • Students must be able to verbalize letters and their sounds. • Students who cannot yet recognize and verbalize letters and sounds will find this class too challenging. • No materials are needed during class. Learning Goals
Students will review alphabet recognition and the sounds each letter makes.
Students will use their listening skills to master rhyming, blending, segmenting, substituting, and deleting sounds in spoken words.

Supply List
Paper and pencil for spelling words Please have your child sitting in front of the computer free of noise and distractions. This lesson is taught just as it would be in my classroom with all students sitting in the meeting area ready to listen and participate. Please have your child put away their toys and art supplies.
