Class Experience

This social-emotional skills class will begin with learners sharing a "good thing" with the class.  This opportunity enables the class to bond and gives each student the chance to share something important in their lives. The main portion of the class will follow a slide presentation wherein I will read the story with numerous opportunities to respond to continue student engagement. The students will use a guinea-pig inspired rating system to determine the level of empathy and fairness...

Students will learn the definitions of "empathy" and "fairness". By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify both in a teacher-given scenario.

I have a master's degree in special education with an emphasis in behavior, and I teach daily social skills in my brick-and-mortar school.

There is no homework for this class.

I will email the rating scale to the student before class begins; however, it does not need to be printed unless you would like to use it as a reference for future discussions.

There will be no assessment for this class

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
