Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
During phase 5 phonics learners will read and spell alternative graphemes for sounds covers in phases 2 and 3. They will also be introduced to more complex phonemes and graphemes such s "ea". Learners should already be comfortable with phase 2 and 3 concepts and be able to read CVCC words (like fish and milk) and CCVC words (like stop and trip).

During phase 5 learners will also be introduced to a range of tricky words such as "little" and "could".

During each class, we will practice writing letters and tricky words, learners should bring paper or a whiteboard to class to practice writing. Learners will also be provided with printable worksheets to further support their learning.

The course consists of 23 lessons that will continue to cycle. Learners may drop in and out as needed. Once completing one cycle of classes learners are welcome to stay enrolled to further practice or progress onto phase 6.

Classes are kept small to allow me to ensure that each and every student is able to understand and grasp the concepts taught in class. Learners are always encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions, but learners will never be forced to participate and talk if they do not feel comfortable doing so! My aim is for learners to feel included and comfortable in class!

If your learner has any unique learning needs or preferences, please don't hesitate to reach out to me so that I can ensure that they feel fully supported during class.
