At the end of this Multi-Day class, learners will be able to answer the following questions: LESSON 1: EXPLORING PHYSICAL SCIENCE 1. What is science? 2. How are matter and energy related to physical science? 3. What are the branches of physical science? LESSON 2: SCIENTIFIC METHODS 1. What are the steps in scientific methods? 2. How do scientists form a hypothesis? 3. What do scientists do before telling others about their experimental results? LESSON 3: SCIENTIFIC MODELS 1. What are the three types of scientific models? 2. How do scientists use models to help them understand scientific information? LESSON 4: TOOLS, MEASUREMENTS, & SAFETY 1. What tools do scientists use to make measurements? 2. What is the International System of Units? 3. How can you stay safe in science class?
I have a bachelor’s degree in science in education as well as 1 year of formal teaching experience. I am also certified in High School Laboratory Safety by Flinn Scientific, Inc.
Homework Offered
Learners will be provided with a Unit Handout that includes definitions discussed during the live lesson and additional practice questions. Learners are encouraged to complete the practice problems before the following lesson and utilize the classroom chat to ask questions.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
