Pete the Cat Trick or Pete! Story Time and Halloween Fun With Teacher Dianne
Class experience
US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
In this class, we are going to celebrate Halloween by wearing our costumes, listening to a story about Pete the Cat celebrating Halloween, making a mosaic pumpkin and decorating a cupcake to eat together! What could be more fabulous with friends! I like to have fun with the books I share and I hope this passes on to the children who come to my classroom! Learning should always be exciting! ** My teaching style is organized and full of fun while being relaxed and friendly at the same time....
This class is taught in English.
*The students will listen and respond to a story. *The students will use their fine motor skills when gluing, cutting and frosting a cupcake. *The students will work on their verbal skills as they talk about their costumes.
*I am an experienced elementary reading teacher and have a great love for children’s literature and being able to incorporate books into all subject areas. I want my students to be excited about reading/writing and I feel that my passion comes thru in each story I tell!
1 file available upon enrollment*glue *scissors *orange/black/brown/green construction paper (the orange, green and brown can be cut ahead of time into 1 1/2 inch squares) *plain cupcake *frosting (You can put in a food color to mix and make it orange, green or whatever color your child wants!) *Halloween sprinkles *plastic knife *placemat or covering for work area *A pumpkin outline will be sent for you to print out when you sign your learner up for the class. *****costume of student’s choice **If your child would like a multi-color pumpkin, that is just fine! You can find packages of construction paper at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Target or Wal-Mart.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents should be close by to help with the glue and frosting the cupcake with the plastic knife. Scissors are involved as well since the students will be cutting out the eyes, nose and mouth for the pumpkin. **The one inch squares should be cut ahead of time. If you put them in a bowl, they will more than likely stay in one place. :)
