Pete the Cat Story Time: 4 R's (#2): Reading, Remembering, Retelling, Recreating
Students will read a Pete the Cat story. We will remember the story by doing a 'picture walk,' retell the story, and recreate their favorite part. Using the 4 R's strategy will foster better understanding and retention of the story.

In today's story time, the students will read Pete the Cat: Scuba Cat. After we read the story together, we will remember the story by doing a 'picture walk,' retell the story, and we will recreate their favorite part of the story with a Pete the Cat mask which will be provided. The students can put the mask on if they choose to pretend to be Pete! Using the 4 R's strategy will foster better understanding and retention of the story. The Pete the Cat mask is in Class Files to print, cut, and color PRIOR to our meeting to recreate a favorite scene in the story. Students may draw a SCUBA MASK on Pete's mask too if they'd like!
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
