In this one-time course, students will listen to a Pete the Cat book and work on a provided writing prompt and drawing activity. Students will share what they created at the end of class.

Class Experience
In this class I will read aloud the book Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes. Students are encouraged to have the book out if they have it at home (but it is not necessary). I will provide two documents to be printed before class that includes a writing prompt (completing one sentence), drawing activity and coloring page. The focus of this will be on colors.Younger or more reluctant writers may need a small amount of parental guidance. Students will have the opportunity to show off their...
Students will be encouraged to make up a new sentence that could fit in the Pete the Cat book and then draw an illustration of their writing.
2 files available upon enrollment2, one-page printables will be available for download and should be printed before class. A pencil, crayons, colored pencils or markers should be available for the student to use during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
