Snakes have become a popular choice for pets. Non-allergenic and low maintenance, snakes can be a fantastic pet choice for your family. Learn about what snakes can be good and poor choices for kids, what they eat, how to care for them properly and what commitment is required. Classes will be a show and tell with a number of snakes. I will talk about each species and there will be a Q&A after each animal. Students do not need any prior knowledge or experience, just a passion to learn about snakes!
Learning Goals
Students will have a grasp of the level of responsibility and requirements to consider having a snake as a pet.
Students will meet multiple species, learn about their specific environments and the pros and cons of different options of pet snakes.

Hello!
Since 2008 I have been teaching people of all ages about reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. I am excited to bring our unique programming to OutSchool.
I was one of the stars of SCALED, which aired in 195 Countries on Animal Planet and Discovery Channel. As one of the shows reptile experts, I helped people pick the perfect animal for them and educated about all sorts of incredible creatures.
I have toured across Canada with stage shows and displays and educated hundreds of thousands of people about reptiles.
In Fall of 2021 we are launching the YYC Nature & Education Centre in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
Blended with fun facts and video animal experiences, we teach the important messages of conservation as well as responsible pet ownership.
