Everyone loves showing off their live pets and stuffed animals! We will start each class by introducing ourselves. Then each student will take a turn showing their pet (or stuffed animal). They be asked to give a bit of information on their pet. What kind of animal is it? When did you get it? What is it's name? Where did you get it? How old is it? The students will be given an opportunity to ask each other questions about their pets. I will show my pets. I have 2 rabbits, fish, a turtle, 2 dogs, and 2 hamsters. You never know which animal will join us for the pet show and tell! If there is extra time, we will play Simon says.

Students will practice public speaking and presenting while having fun!

Teacher expertise and credentials
New York Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hi! I'm a certified educator hailing from New York with a Master's in Special Education and a Bachelor's in Childhood Education. With experience across all elementary grades, I currently nurture young minds in first grade. Transitioning to distance learning, I leveraged Zoom to teach reading, math, science, social studies, and conduct engaging class meetings from March to June. Despite missing face-to-face interactions, I fostered connections through inventive activities like pet/stuffed animal show and tell, phonics-based scavenger hunts, and guided drawing sessions, ensuring learning remained enjoyable.
I designed and executed an enriching year-long fairy tale curriculum, exploring multicultural and traditional tales from various perspectives, nurturing critical thinking among students. I thrive on building lasting relationships with my students and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet you!
