In this one time class, students are invited to take turns sharing their pets (real or stuffed). I will start the class by showing one of my pets. I have 3 pugs and 1 spotted salamander. As each child talks about their pet, I will ask questions to encourage them to talk about things like their pet's name, how they take care of their pet, what their pet eats, or how their pet feels. This class will help encourage social skills, participation, taking turns, and listening. Following show and tell, we will listen to the book "What Pet Should I Get" by Dr. Seuss.
Learning Goals
- Students will learn about different pets.
- Social skills, participation, taking turns, and listening

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Mrs. Ramos and I am currently an ESE kindergarten teacher in Orlando, FL. I am also apart of the school garden committee and enjoy getting my hands dirty both at school and at home planting fruits and vegetables. I love integrating science experiments and culinary arts in the classroom where students are able to use their senses to feel, hear, see, touch, and smell science. I love seeing their little minds work while guiding them to answer questions!
I have a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with an area of focus in health, behavioral science and a minor in early childhood education. Before deciding to go into education, I was in nursing school where I completed several clinical rotations in the hospital and used to work as a nurse tech and pharmacy tech (for over 12 years). With my background in science and early childhood education, I love to share that passion for the world around us with students!
When I'm not working, I love going to local farmers markets, try new restaurants, go to different beaches, and draw/paint. I also thoroughly enjoy spending time with my three pugs and husband at home or local dog parks.
