Class Experience

In this one time class we will discuss basic pet care and each have a turn to show and tell about our pet(or a pet we would like to have). Class will begin with an icebreaker introduction activity. During the teacher led discussion, children will be encouraged to think of the many different ways we take care of our pets. Children will then take turns showing their pet and talking about it. The teacher will also show and tell about one of her pets. A live pet is not required to join this class. A child can also bring a photo or stuffed animal if a pet is not available. I look forward to seeing you and your pet in class!

I am an early childhood educator with over 30 years of professional work experience with young children. I have a master's degree in early childhood education. My experience includes managing multiple child care programs, working as a teacher's aid in my local school district, teaching English online as well as private in person tutoring.
I believe children learn best through hands on activities. Online instruction requires creativity to get children involved. Children are usually excited to get to share with the teacher and other students. Sometimes, however, children can be intimidated by the online classroom experience. Classes like show and tell and circle time highly encourage children to interact with the teacher and other children. I like to get to know something about my students before class, such as their pet's name or favorite food, so I can easily form a connection with them. This will help children feel more comfortable with the online classroom, especially if it's their first class. I look forward to having your child in class!
I enjoy spending time with my husband, two grown daughters and our 3 cats and dog . I also have a love for horses and volunteer at a local equine therapy organization. I am also reteaching myself the piano. I can't wait to hear about your student!
