Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Mrs. Jen
I am passionate about teaching, engaging kids in critical thinking, and making it fun and memorable!
I'm also intensely passionate about raising and taking care of small breed dogs! I've owned small breed dogs most of my life, minus when I had very young children (3 under the age of 4). It's been my obsession to learn all I can about how to train them and care for them in a positive and loving way. I'm constantly learning more and in the process of becoming a licensed dog trainer.
Not much in life can get better than combining two things you absolutely love, (teaching and puppies) and that's why I want to teach all about our amazing furry friends!
I also run the website www.pawsandlearn.com where I'm constantly learning by researching and writing helpful articles and testing out the best pet products to help our pets have the best life possible.
My Experience
I have 15 Years of experience teaching kids ages 18 months-18 years.
My range of experience extends outside of the classroom, it includes summer camps, church classes, preschool, Sunday school, one on one tutoring, and small interest classes.
I have experience homeschooling my own children.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences and a
minor in Music Education completed fall 2020.
I Volunteer with my local Pro Literacy Education Network.
I am a member of my local PTO.
My philosophy in dog training is to always use positive reinforcement. I believe in teaching kids to help their pets by creating the best environments for them to learn in. That includes helping children understand how their behavior and actions can affect their pets.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned in my years of teaching is how to think on my feet, improvise, and remain in control even when things might seem like they are getting out of control.
My teaching philosophy is to bring a fun upbeat and positive energy to every class that will inspire and motivate my students to reach higher and do better. I love giving out positive reinforcement and believe that every student has great potential that they can attain if encouraged and guided by a loving mentor. I hope that I can have the opportunity to meet and mentor your child even if it's just for a short time you can trust that, any time will be precious to me.
Please feel free to message me with any questions.
I look forward to meeting your child!
