I am a teacher who enjoys sharing stories. So, during this class I will be sharing pictures of my past pet bettas, possibly some videos (if the quality is good), and some of my 'tails' from the sad to the silly. đ Yes, I enjoy puns a lot. âď¸ Learn why I decided I would have only male bettas in my classroom to why I bought a fish that had only one eye. âż â¨Class Highlights⨠(Date) Topic 1: Buying your fish đ and food precautions đŚ (Date) Topic 2: Setting up your tank 𧍠and regular cleaning 𧽠(Date) Topic 3: Simple Steps to Sick Fish Care đ¤ (Date) Topic 4: Elder Fish Care and Goodbyes â ď¸ During parts of my lessons I will ask if anyone has a question or if everyone is following my pacing. I don't want to leave anyone 'floundering'. đ At the end of each session I will try to leave a little time for students to either share their own knowledge about our topic that day or summarize their pet fish experiences.

Learning Needs
With my Massachusetts License in Special Education Prek-8, Moderate Disabilities, I feel comfortable saying as long as I am given prior knowledge of a student's needs I will accommodate and/or modify to a student's needs as best I can.
Parental Guidance
We will be talking about what to do when your pet betta fish dies and how to properly and respectfully dispose of the body. They can live up to 5 years. However, in my experience we truly don't know how long they lived at the pet store or the breeders. Therefore, 1-3 years is a more accurate estimate of life span.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Massachusetts Teaching Certificate in Special Education
I have had many pet betta fish both in and out of the classroom for over a decade. Every pet was special to me and teaching students how to care for them was an amazing privilege. Now, with the perfect platform, I hope to inform many more students about being a responsible pet owner.
