In this one time class students will learn to write a persuasive essay by learning the Oreo method, a strategy used to help students to become better writers.

We will begin by discussing what a persuasive essay is. I will introduce the Oreo way, a graphic organizer to help students get their thoughts on paper. I will model a persuasive essay, encouraging students input. We will brainstorm ideas for the students to write about. I will guide them as they fill out their Oreo organizer. After class students can complete their essay following the graphic organizer they completed. They are welcome to email the completed essay for me to critique. Students will gain the confidence to become better writers after completing this class!
