In this 6-week class, students write a 5-paragraph persuasive essay following the 5-step writing process. Students will brainstorm, plan, research, draft, edit, revise, and "publish" their essay using Flipgrid with support and guidance from the teacher. Students will brainstorm, plan, research, draft, revise, edit, and publish a 5-paragraph persuasive essay.
I'm a licensed K-12 teacher. I have a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Teaching. I have 9 years of teaching experience.
Students will need to do the follow tasks each week: - watch the recorded lesson - complete the Kahoot comprehension check quizzes - complete the writing activity for homework - submit the homework via Google Docs to get detailed feedback from the teacher - share work in the Outschool classroom for peer feedback - evaluate and give feedback to peers in the Outschool classroom
Students will work to complete a 5-paragraph persuasive essay by the end of the 6-week course. Students will also create a Flipgrid video presenting their persuasive essays. Learners do not have to record their faces for Flipgrid. They can use the background, effects, and other tools provided on Flipgrid to present their project in a way that the student is most comfortable.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
This class uses Google Docs and Flipgrid. In order to access Google Docs, your child will need to be able to have access to a Google account.
