As an elementary classroom/ special education teacher, teaching persuasive writing unit is a good way to introduce students to making changes in our world. The students are able to develop their opinions on things that matter to them and provide the change in the form of writing. This builds a sense of awareness of the world we live in. This unit of study helps the young writers develop their writing skills and confidence in writing. I have seen students build confidence, and growth in persuasive writing.
Student will be asked to continue their persuasive writing assignments from class.

I will complete informal assessments throughout the lessons to provide extra support to the students. First, during the students active engagement at the beginning of the lesson. Then, during the middle of the lesson within small group instruction, and at the end assessing the students completed assignments and tasks.
