US Grade 8 - 11
Are you using the Lost Tools of Writing curriculum and would like some extra support? This class is for you! Students can receive instruction in any lesson of the program. This time can be used to review lessons, revise essays, complete ANI charts with guided help, or work on tricky segments of the outline such as narratio and refutation. When you register for class, please introduce yourself and let me know what lesson and canon we will be working on in class and your writing source text. For example: Working on invention for a persuasive essay on Hamlet, or refining the arrangement, or reviewing a rough draft. Possible topics in the Canons of Invention, Arrangement, and Elocution include the ANI chart, the Five Common Topics, creating an outline, sorting the outline, exordium, amplification, narratio, and various schemes and tropes. General essay review can also include a review of the thesis, development, evidence, paragraphing, and transitions. We will determine what is covered in each class based on individual need. Learners should communicate what they would like to cover 24 hours prior to session time.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm a teacher for life! After receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Education, I began my career teaching in a traditional classroom setting. I have branched out to homeschooling my own children, teaching small group classes to homeschoolers, and teaching online classes. I have taught many different subjects to a wide variety of ages . My focus has been on writing, grammar, literature, and rhetoric with a classical approach. I'm a lifelong learner and continue my own education through courses, webinars, workshops, and learning alongside my own children and students. My desire is to help others think and reason well, by reading good books, practicing persuasive writing, and exploring the art of rhetoric. I hope you'll join me!
I live with my husband and three children in the Pacific Northwest. Our family has lived in three corners of the United States; from desert, to tropical, to temperate rainforest. My eldest just graduated and is off to college in the fall. I love coffee, nature, and books!
