Perspective is like a scaffold for sketching a scene and I will demonstrate One-point perspectives in a manner that will help my students gain confidence in utilizing this sometimes complicated, fundamental skill. Then, students will be guided, step-by-step, to make their own Horizon line, Vanishing point(s) and the Convergent lines. They will learn valuable tips that will enhance their drawing skills and make sketching a pleasant experience. After sketching their examples in a basic structure, if time allows, they will sketch a scene using the perspective from either eye level, above or below and have the information they need to be successful.
Learning Goals
Students will gain knowledge of this extremely important drawing skill that is foundational for growth in acquiring realistic sketches.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
I have been a practicing Artist and Teacher in the public school system for 25 years. I believe that the basics create a strong foundation for learning and allowing students to gain the confidence they need for continuing with their own drawing style and future artistic projects. I have learned that making mistakes is part of the process and the more comfortable students get with that concept, the better their artwork turns out.
