Students will participate in a short discussion about American artist Edward Hopper. He is a well-known American artist who specialized in oil paintings of urban and rural life. He is most known for painting Nighthawks. We will look specifically at his painting Nighthawks and discuss why it was paintined. We will also look at the process of his work and the materials that he used. Students will create their own interior perspective drawing using the materials they provide. I will be drawing along with the students. This is a step-by-step drawing class. I will be drawing with the students giving instructions. This class is best suited for those who have experience in perspective or who have taken my first perspective class. Learning Objectives Students will be able to: • learn the definition of perspective. • analyze a painting. • draw an interior space using perspective I have attached an image that we will be discussing. The image above was created by a 6th grade student. The attached image is from the Art Institute of Chicago. We will be discussing that image briefly during class. After the discussion we will work on our project. By the end of the class students will be familiar with Edward Hopper
