Class Experience

Students will learn about the two types of perspective drawing in art, linear and atmospheric. They will create three works of art of their own based on these two perspective types. Each class will include a lesson on a different type of perspective (atmospheric, one point, and two point). We will discuss how perspective is used in different examples of famous artwork. Though this will be done in a slideshow lecture style, students will be asked questions and contribute to the class discussion. A demonstration will then be given on how to create art using the type of perspective discusses that day. Each class will build on the concepts learned during the previous lesson.

Day 1: Atmospheric Perspective
Day 2: One Point Linear Perspective
Day 3: Two Point Linear Perspective
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of atmospheric and linear perspective, including one point and two point perspective. They will develop their skills in artistic decision making and composition layout.

Teacher expertise and credentials
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
