Description

Class Experience

This is a personalized, informal, one-on-one math assessment. The assessment will evaluate skills essential for math success.  I will evaluate number formation, number sense, counting, skip-counting, ordinal numbers, addition, mental math, place value, comparing numbers, basic logic, and multiplication (if applicable).  It is recommended, but not required, that a child has completed a solid kindergarten program prior to being assessed.

I am a licensed teacher in the State of Indiana with over 25 years experience teaching, tutoring and coaching.  I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method by The Dyslexia Institute of Indiana and in Kindergarten OG by the M.A. Rooney Foundation.  In the past year I have completed Advanced Orton-Gillingham Training and Written Expression Training by the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana.  I have completed courses in the past three years on dyslexia and structured literacy through the Montessori Foundation.  I have also taken Conscious Discipline training.  I am a professional member of the International Dyslexia Association.  I am currently working on LETRS training through Voyager Sopris Learning.  In 2018-2020 I worked in a private Montessori school serving students who have Individual Service Plans.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

50 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
