In this course, I will be providing homework assistance to learners who need to talk about their homework with someone. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, I was originally certified to teach students Kindergarten to Grade 9. When I moved abroad, my certification lapsed. As I was homeschooling my son, it seemed to not be necessary to renew that certification. Now, especially in these unusual times, I would like to offer my assistance to learners who are facing challenges with their schoolwork, be it digital or in class. I would be happy to talk with your learner about their homework challenges in any subject, and I enjoy looking deeper into subjects - so if there's a particular method your learner is having challenges with (I'm looking at you, math!), I'm your helper!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Care, and I am a teacher by trade. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent children - specifically those with ADHD, Anxiety, ASD, and gifted diagnoses. I love reading, knitting, Final Fantasy XIV, and Bluey!
I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education earned from Northern Illinois University. My teaching certificate is now out of date, as I have relocated to Canada. I have a wonderful spouse, and we have a thirteen year old child. Our household is body-positive, rainbow-themed, and neurodiverse. I enjoy spending time with kids, and talking with them to discover new ideas together.
In my classroom, learners and their families have the right to:
- Be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, neurology, marital status, or sexual orientation
- A safe and healthy environment
- Be treated as your learner’s most important people
- Receive timely communication about the learner’s temperament, behavior, compliments and concerns
I am not perfect, but I do my best to try to help everyone feel included and accepted for who they are at all times!
