Class Experience
In this class, students meet with me to determine an individualized curriculum in Grade 1-6 material. During class, I perform informal assessments as we play math games, discuss books the student is reading, and share writing material. I am a certified elementary (K-6) teacher with over 20 years experience homeschooling my 4 children, teaching in a variety of settings, writing curriculum, and running an in-person microschool. I have been teaching classes on Oustchool for over 2 years, and I am an expert at engaging students in online learning. My approach to teaching is to meet my students wherever they are in their learning journey. In my classes, I create safe, supportive environments where students are encouraged to ask questions, be curious, and share their expertise. You can read more about me in my profile: https://outschool.com/teachers/Kim-Musolff
The student should bring to class: -paper & pencil -their favorite book and a current book they are reading (I'll ask them to read their favorite part to me, so they should think about this before our meeting)
After this conference, your student will receive a personalized learning plan in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
