Class Experience: AP Social Studies Test Prep This personalized tutoring session is designed to help learners excel in AP Social Studies subjects, including AP US History, AP World History, AP Government, and AP Economics. Each session focuses on the learner’s goals. This could include: -Mastering key content from the AP curriculum -Developing analytical skills for source-based questions -Crafting strong essays for free-response (FRQ's and SAQ's), Long Essay Questions (LEQ's), and document-based questions (DBQs) -Practicing multiple-choice strategies and time management for the exam What Topics Will You Cover? Topics vary based on the specific AP course but may include: -AP US History: Major events like the Civil War, the New Deal, and the Cold War -AP World History: Global developments from the ancient world to the present -AP Government: The Constitution, political institutions, and civil rights -AP Economics: Microeconomics and macroeconomics principles Sessions can also emphasize cross-disciplinary skills such as critical thinking, essay organization, and connecting themes across time and regions. All materials in this class can be modified to include any ADA identified ability, including but not limited to: ADHD, Dyslexia, etc.
Parental Guidance
This course, depending on the AP Course being taken, may touch on sensitive themes of colonization, slavery, racial tension, and armed conflict. Please be aware that some primary sources required by College Board address these topics, and that your learner may have to revisit them for tutoring purposes.
Pre-Requisites
As this is tutoring for AP Testing, student must either have taken an AP Course for Social Studies or must be currently enrolled in a AP Course.
Supply List
Learner does not need any supplies aside from their current materials (if enrolled in a current AP Course) or a list of goals to be accomplished during tutoring sessions. The following corresponding AP course AMSCO books or 5 Steps to a 5 review books are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but by all means not required.
