In this ongoing class, students will learn the basics of piano (beginners) or build on existing knowledge (for intermediate players)
Class experience
The course will give individualized instruction in piano. Topics covered include: Keyboard orientation- learning names of keys Rhythm- quarter , half and whole note counting Theory- learning notes on the staff, and playing songs Technique- proper posture and hand position A 30 minute lesson would include a portion from all these topics, gradually increasing in knowledge and ability. Goals are to read music, develop ear for music, and learn to play songs on the piano, and have fun!
I have been teaching piano for over 30 years, experienced with all ages, and with teaching online. Member of the National Piano Guild.
Homework Offered
Practicing 10-15 minutes a day is required.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
