Dear Students and Parents,

During this course, we will explore a variety of personal finance topics, including but not limited to saving vs investing, renting vs buying a home, Inflation, taxes, and many more.

While the structure of each class will be similar, the content covered each week will be entirely different. This Personal Finance class covers a range of financial topics to improve financial literacy. Each week, a different topic will be discussed. A short video may be shown to help learners understand what the topic is all about and how it is important. Next we will discuss an give real life examples of each topic with interaction throughout the lesson.

Students will participate in discussions and activities focused on the topic of the week. Whether it's understanding the stock market, learning how to create a budget, or managing debt, this class will provide students with valuable knowledge to make informed financial decisions in their lives. Ultimately, our goal is for students to gain a solid grasp of the financial concepts covered each week.

Saving vs. Investing
 Understand the differences between saving and investing.
Identify scenarios when saving is more appropriate than investing.
Evaluate the risks and rewards associated with both saving and investing.
Learn how inflation affects savings and investments.
Develop a personal strategy for balancing saving and investing.

 Understand the key differences between credit and debit cards.
Learn about the advantages and disadvantages of using credit vs. debit cards.
Identify how credit cards can impact your credit score.
Understand fees, interest rates, and rewards associated with credit cards.
Develop strategies for using credit and debit cards responsibly.

Renting vs. Buying a House
 Understand the financial implications of renting vs. buying a house.
Evaluate the pros and cons of renting and buying.

Develop a plan to determine which types of insurance are most important.
