This course has been successful for 2 decades in different formats. 1. We take on a real-life experience (an actual activity) to demonstrate the tension of 'personal choices' to set a baseline for discussion. 2. We walk through relevant examples of YES, NO, MAYBE, WAIT! choices, and other real-life behaviors carefully. 3. We will cover the broad content 'decision making' and how can impact relationships, self-care, social groups, and grades 4. We will cover the application of topics to practice as a student in life, with adults anytime, at home, or at school. 5. We will examine the importance of "showing not telling" and modeling a good example when practicing. Parents agree that having their students make a wise choice for the long term is always more beneficial than short term gain. The first module will be discussing the growth mindset and knowing that choices are not something we HAVE to do, but something we GET to do. The second session will include practical activities to demonstrate the 'a-ha' and drive home the application of the content into their personal journey towards making good choices today, for tomorrow.

Parental Guidance
Please understand that almost 80% of the students that will attend this class are "told to participate" by their parents. I have had a lot of success in winning the kids over in the first session to stay engaged in both sessions. I would ask for your grace in the "transformation" period of becoming responsible... this course has proven data and parent feedback that it can work BUT it is not a magic pill. Please take that into consideration and I am always available for a 1-1 conversation if you need support. Thank you for the gift of working with your student.
