Students will understand the difference between a negative and positive 'choice' in real life Students will discuss how relationships can be hurt today when we do not think about tomorrow. Students will practice/experience choosing short term gratification and therefore long term pain (expediency). Students will practice/experience choosing long term gratification and therefore short term pain (patience). Students will apply methods to personal situations, for personal gain
I have over 3000 Outschool graduates with a 5 STAR rating. I have been teaching life skills for 2 decades in over 40 countries around the world. My goal is not just as motivation and inspiration, but for application.
Depending on the individual situation, students may try to apply skills between sessions. Please bring a notebook or paper to class for notes/brainstorms.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please understand that almost 80% of the students that will attend this class are "told to participate" by their parents. I have had a lot of success in winning the kids over in the first session to stay engaged in both sessions. I would ask for your grace in the "transformation" period of becoming responsible... this course has proven data and parent feedback that it can work BUT it is not a magic pill. Please take that into consideration and I am always available for a 1-1 conversation if you need support. Thank you for the gift of working with your student. Mr. Chicka
