Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! I like to describe this class as kind of a big kid storytime. For the first part of the class, I will lead the campers through a personality class to determine the identity of their godly parent. Once everyone knows who their parent is, they will need something to draw on and something to draw with so they can design their cabins. While the students work on their cabins, I will share stories about the gods of the Greek Pantheon. At the end of the class there will be time for campers to share their designs with the group.
Learning Goals
This class is designed for fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The class will briefly cover the traits of some of the Greek gods and goddesses but will primarily be a time of self-expression and creativity.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
As we are talking about Greek Mythology topics of infidelity and romance will come up. These are handled with humor and I will use words like "dated" or "had a baby with" and will not discuss sex acts. There will also be descriptions of violence done to immortal beings. (Ex. Zeus asks to have his head cut upon in order to alleviate a headache.) We will not go into any graphic descriptions. We may also talk about mortals dying.

They will need coloring supplies and paper for their cabin designs.
