**If you have a student younger than the suggested age range, I now am offering a duplicate camp for younger students. Please enroll in that class. Please be sure to check the supply list before enrolling.** Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! During this week, students will learn about character building and short story writing through fun activities related to "The Lightning Thief". Classes will involve discussion, crafts, Capture the Flag trivia, and interactive quizzes for the students. Our structure will be as follows: Day 1: Welcome to Camp! Students will take a personality quiz to determine what Demigod Cabin they belong in (based on the first novel). Students will decorate their cabin, and discuss the characters of "The Lightning Thief". Day 2: Let's Train! Students will create their own shield for camp. Students will discuss what traits are important for a Demigod to have, and get their powers. Day 3: A Quest! Students will receive a prophecy from The Oracle, and start their quest! Students will map out key events that will occur during their Demigod quest. Students will create a camp necklace to signify important events from camp and their quest. Day 4: The Journey! Students will write their quest using their key events from Day 3. To celebrate the completion of their quest, they will make victory laurels. Day 5: Final Day of Camp! Students will be presenting their quest they completed this camp. Students will also vote on what camp activity they found most memorable. Students are encouraged to dress in character if they wish. **Students do not need to have short story writing experience, but students must have read "The Lightning Thief" before attending class. We will be discussing several characters and plot elements from the book, and will not have time to read the novel in class.**

I want students in my classes to feel comfortable, inspired, and motivated, and overall foster an environment of creativity and participation.
**I currently offer classes based on requested times. If you see a class you like, please feel free to make a request.**
I have been teaching since 2011, and have taught students ages 6-19. My past teaching and tutoring experiences have been in the subjects of:
- Theatre/Drama

- Reading
- History
- Environmental Science
I also have a BA in IDS: Digital Media, Communications, and Modern Languages & Literature, and have worked professionally in their subjects. Additionally, I obtained my 120hr Advanced TEFL to teach English as a Foreign Language this year, and have been tutoring non-native speakers in English.
When I'm not teaching I love to travel, read, and act. I am a naturally curious person, and love to continue learning new things wherever I go. Expressing myself creatively and experiencing new cultures is a joy for me, and I strive to bring that open-minded mentality to all my classes. I look forward to our first class!
