In this fun, interactive, high energy class, learners will be introduced to the wonderful world of percussion instruments! (which is any musical instrument that you strike, shake or scrape). Learners will get to see, hear and learn about percussion instruments from around the world such as drums, guiros, cymbals, bells, tambourines, marimba and piano (which is both a string and percussion instrument). Learners can bring a drum or even a pot and wooden spoon to join in the fun. We will learn about rhythm, keeping a steady beat as well as the musical terms of forte, piano, largo, presto, rest and repeat. We will also be singing fun, familiar songs and learning some new ones. As with all my sing-a-longs, learners will be joined by a variety of zany puppets! Please have your young percussionist join us for this fun, educational and noisy class! Supply List
Bring any drum to the class. If you don't have a real drum, be creative, anything will do such as a pot and wooden spoon!
