This class is designed to introduce students to the 3 ways to find percent of a number. We will explore percent bars, is over of proportions, and percent equations.

This class will explore the three methods of finding parts and whole amounts as related to percent. The first method will be the bar methods. This involves taking whole amounts and splitting them into manageable parts to discover portions of a whole. The next method is the proportions method. This methods can be successful for finding the part, the whole, or the percentage amount of a value. Lastly, the equation method can be used to find the part (multiplication) or the whole (division). In addition to numerical values we will also review real world scenarios to find parts/whole.

Pre-Requisites
This class can be most successful for students who are able to fluidly multiply 1-3 digit values. In addition, students made find it beneficial to have some knowledge of cross products.

Learners simply need pencil and paper.
